Description

A magical, sensory-rich dough for crafting vibrant snowman shapes, perfect for kids’ imaginative play during cold weather.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • Optional: Food coloring (blue and white)
  • Optional: Glow in the dark paint or powder
  • Optional: Glitter
  • Optional: Essential oils (vanilla or peppermint for scent)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, cream of tartar, and vegetable oil. Stir until dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
  2. Gradually mix in water. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring while stirring to create a vibrant hue.
  3. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Stir continuously until the dough thickens and forms a ball. The texture should be soft but not sticky.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool. If using, knead in glow in the dark paint and glitter to achieve a magical effect.
  5. Once cool, divide the dough into smaller portions. Roll them into balls to create snowman shapes. Accessorize with buttons, scarves, and hats!

Notes

Store the dough in an airtight container to keep it fresh for repeat play. Gluten-free flour can be used, though texture may vary.
