Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide
- 1 packet (about 2 1/4 teaspoons) of active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons warm water
- 1/4 cup liquid dish soap
- Food coloring (various colors)
- A clean plastic soda bottle or container
- Tray to catch overflow
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Safety goggles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by choosing a clean surface and placing the tray underneath the bottle.
- Put on safety goggles if desired.
- In a small bowl, mix the yeast with warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In the soda bottle, pour in the hydrogen peroxide and add the liquid dish soap, mixing gently.
- Add food coloring drops for a colorful effect.
- Carefully pour the yeast mixture into the soda bottle.
- Watch as the foam erupts from the bottle!
Notes
Experiment with different food colorings and consider adding glitter for additional visual effects.
