Transform ordinary eggshells into stunning, colorful geodes through a fun and educational crafting project.
Ingredients
- Empty eggshells (cleaned and dried)
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Epsom salt
- Warm water
- Small bowls for mixing
- Tweezers (optional)
- Paper towels
- Paintbrush (optional for touch-ups)
Instructions
- Clean the eggshells and allow them to dry completely.
- Carefully crack the eggshells in half.
- In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of Epsom salt and 1/2 cup of warm water until dissolved.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the solution.
- Pour the colored solution into each eggshell half, filling it about 3/4 full.
- Place the eggshells in a safe spot to let them set for several hours or overnight.
- After crystal formation, gently remove the crystals using tweezers if necessary.
- Display your colorful geodes creatively!
Notes
For extra sparkle, add fine glitter to the solution. Experiment with different salts for varied textures.
