Ingredients
- Clean eggshells (about 5–6)
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Epsom salt (1 cup)
- Warm water (1 cup)
- Bowl or container
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Spoon or whisk
- Gloves (optional)
Instructions
- Gently rinse eggshells to remove any residue and allow them to dry completely. Crush the eggshells into small pieces resembling a coarse sand texture.
- In a bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water with 1 cup of Epsom salt and stir until the salt fully dissolves.
- Divide the eggshell pieces into smaller bowls (1–2 tablespoons per bowl), adding a few drops of food coloring into each and mixing until coated.
- Carefully place the colored eggshells into the Epsom salt solution and allow the mixture to sit for 6–8 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, spread the eggshells evenly, and bake for about 30 minutes until the crystals harden.
- Once cooled, display your unique Eggshell Galaxy Crystals, arranging them in a dish or gifting them to friends.
Notes
