Craft your own ocean world using an egg carton to engage children’s creativity and imagination while teaching them about marine life.
Ingredients

- 1 clean, empty egg carton
- Acrylic paint (blues, greens, and other colors)
- Paintbrushes (various sizes)
- Scissors
- Glue (craft glue and/or hot glue gun)
- Decorative materials (craft foam, sequins, googly eyes, glitter)
- Soft sponge or cloth (for painting)
- Optional: Small plastic sea creatures or shells
Instructions
- Prepare Your Work Area: Lay down newspaper or a drop cloth to protect surfaces and gather all materials.
- Create the Ocean Base: Cut the egg carton in half and paint the inner sections with blue and green acrylic paint.
- Add Ocean Life: Cut out shapes from craft foam or paper for fish, seaweed, and other marine creatures, painting or decorating them as desired.
- Assemble Your Ocean World: Once the base is dry, use glue to attach the cutouts and arrange them in a visually appealing way.
- Final Touches: Sprinkle glitter or sequins on the ocean base and allow the craft to dry completely before displaying.
Notes
For additional realism, consider adding real sand or pebbles. This is also a great group activity for classrooms or family gatherings.
