Description
A versatile and sustainable clay made from repurposed coffee grounds, perfect for sculpting and crafting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup used coffee grounds
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup salt
- 1 tablespoon white glue
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- ½ cup water (may need more or less)
- Mixing bowl
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
Instructions
- Prepare the Coffee Grounds: Ensure your coffee grounds are completely dried out. Spread them on a baking sheet and leave them to air dry for a few hours.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In your mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of the dried coffee grounds, 1 cup of flour, and ½ cup of salt. Stir until well combined.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Make a well in the center of the dry mixture. Add 1 tablespoon of white glue, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, and gradually pour in ½ cup of water. Mix with your hands until the mixture comes together.
- Knead the Clay: Knead the mixture for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and pliable. If it’s too dry, add water a little at a time; if too wet, sprinkle in some flour.
- Shape and Create: Once your clay is ready, shape it into your desired form! Use tools or your hands to create texture and detail.
- Dry Your Creations: Place your finished pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow them to air dry for 24-48 hours, or bake them at 200°F (93°C) for 1-2 hours until hardened.
