- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- Natural food coloring (optional)
- Wax paper or parchment paper
- Cookie cutters (various shapes)
- A pot for cooking
- A spoon for mixing
- A baking tray
Instructions
- Prepare your work area by laying down wax paper on a flat surface.
- In a pot, mix corn starch, water, and vinegar until combined.
- Place the pot on medium heat and stir consistently until the mixture thickens and becomes translucent (about 5–7 minutes).
- If desired, add a few drops of natural food coloring and stir well.
- Using cookie cutters, scoop blobs of the mixture onto the wax paper.
- Flatten them slightly for uniform thickness. Optionally, use a straw to make a hole for hanging.
- Allow the suncatchers to cool and set for 24–48 hours until fully hardened.
Notes
Experiment with colors, shapes, and decorations. For quicker projects, consider air-drying the suncatchers in a warm room.
