Description

A delightful craft project to make personalized cat-themed ornaments using salt dough, perfect for holiday décor or unique gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup table salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Acrylic paint (optional)
  • Paintbrush (optional)
  • String or ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Gradually add 1 cup of water, mixing with a spoon until a dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough to a clean surface and knead it for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Roll the dough out to about 1/4-inch thickness using a rolling pin.
  4. Use a cat-shaped cookie cutter to cut out your ornaments, making a small hole at the top of each piece for hanging.
  5. Place the cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200°F (93°C) for 2-3 hours or until completely dry.
  6. Once cooled, decorate with acrylic paint, markers, or glitter as desired, and thread string or ribbon through the holes to hang your ornaments.

Notes

Customize shapes with other cookie cutters or add cinnamon for a fragrant twist. Consider personalizing gifts with name tags.
