- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 teaspoons cream of tartar
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 4 teaspoons of cream of tartar.
- Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 2 cups of water to the dry ingredients.
- If you want colored playdough, add a few drops of food coloring to the mix and adjust for intensity.
- Pour the mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it forms a dough, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the dough from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Knead the dough by hand until smooth and elastic.
- Place the playdough in an airtight container for storage; it lasts for a few weeks when stored properly.
Notes
You can customize colors and add scents with essential oils. For a gluten-free option, use almond flour or a gluten-free blend.
