Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • Food coloring (liquid or gel)
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar (optional for brighter colors)
  • Ziplock bags or bowls for mixing
  • Parchment paper or baking sheet for drying

Instructions

  1. Prepare your space by laying down parchment paper or a baking sheet to catch any spills.
  2. In a bowl or Ziplock bag, combine 1 cup of rice with 1 to 2 tablespoons of food coloring. If using, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to enhance color vibrancy.
  3. Seal the bag (if using) and shake thoroughly until the rice is evenly coated. If using a bowl, stir well with a spoon.
  4. Spread the dyed rice in a thin layer on parchment paper or a baking sheet and let it air dry for 10-30 minutes, tilting occasionally to ensure even drying.
  5. Once dry, store the dyed rice in airtight containers or use it immediately in your project.
