Description

Create beautiful and colorful DIY glue suncatchers that mimic stained glass artistry with minimal materials and effort.

Ingredients

  • Clear school glue or liquid silicone
  • Wax paper or plastic sheet
  • Food coloring or liquid watercolors
  • Paintbrush or sponge
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Black construction paper (for outlines)
  • Optional: Glitter or beads (for added sparkle)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by finding a flat, clean surface and laying out your wax paper or plastic sheet.
  2. Create your design using cut-out shapes from construction paper as a guide.
  3. Mix the clear glue with a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolor in a small container.
  4. Apply the colored glue onto the wax paper using a paintbrush or sponge, filling shapes or creating designs.
  5. Add glitter or beads on the wet glue for texture.
  6. Let the designs dry completely, which can take several hours to overnight.
  7. Carefully peel the dried suncatcher off the wax paper and hang it in a sunny window.

Notes

Experiment with different shapes and colors for unique designs. Ensure glue is applied in thinner layers for better drying.
