Description

Create your own magical winter scenes with this easy DIY snow dough recipe, perfect for sensory play and creative activities.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Glitter (optional, for sparkle)
  • Essential oil (optional, for scent)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Mix well until evenly blended.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add a few drops of essential oil if desired.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously until everything is blended and a dough begins to form.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat. Stir constantly for a few minutes until the dough thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  5. Once the dough forms a ball, remove it from the pan and let it cool. Knead the dough for a minute or two until it becomes smooth and pliable.
  6. For a festive touch, knead in glitter until evenly distributed.

Notes

Store snow dough in an airtight container at room temperature to keep it fresh. It can also be frozen for later use.
