Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Mix Well: Stir until a dough forms; it should be slightly sticky but manageable.
- Knead the Dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Roll Out the Dough: Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut Shapes: Use cookie cutters to create various shapes (stars, hearts, etc.).
- Make Holes: Carefully poke a hole at the top of each ornament with a straw for hanging.
- Prepare for Baking: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your ornaments on it.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) and bake for 2-3 hours until completely dry and hard.
- Cool Completely: Allow the ornaments to cool before decorating.
- Get Creative: Paint and embellish your ornaments as desired, using acrylic paints or markers.
- Add String: Thread string or ribbon through the holes for hanging.
