Description

Create personalized salt dough ornaments that are fun, easy, and perfect for any occasion; the ideal craft project for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Optional: Acrylic paint, paintbrushes, stamps, ribbon, sealant spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salt Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Gradually add 1 cup of water, stirring until it forms a dough. Knead for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Shape Your Ornaments: Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and make holes for hanging.
  3. Bake the Ornaments: Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 2-3 hours until hard. Allow to cool completely.
  4. Decorate (Optional): Once cooled, paint with acrylic paints, add glitter, and seal with clear spray if desired.

Notes

Customize colors by mixing in paint, and use stamps for unique patterns. Store unbaked dough in the refrigerator for up to a week.
