Ingredients
- Epoxy resin (clear and two-part)
- Hardener
- Silicone mold (various shapes)
- Dried flowers and butterflies
- Mixing cups
- Stirring sticks
- Protective gloves
- Safety goggles
- Heat gun or torch (for bubble removal)
- Optional: Pigment powder or colors
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace in a clean, well-ventilated area with protective coverings.
- Gather all your materials and ensure you wear gloves and goggles for safety.
- Mix the resin by combining epoxy resin and hardener in a mixing cup according to package instructions for 3-5 minutes.
- Add pigment powders to the resin mixture if desired and stir until evenly distributed.
- Pour a small amount of resin into the silicone mold to cover the surface.
- Carefully arrange the dried flowers and butterflies in the resin using tweezers.
- Pour the remaining resin until the mold is filled, securing all elements.
- Use a heat gun or torch to eliminate bubbles on the surface.
- Allow the resin to cure for at least 24 hours, or as directed by the manufacturer.
- Once cured, carefully remove your art from the mold and admire your creation.
Notes
For best results, use dried flowers as fresh flowers may ferment. Experiment with different molds and layers of resin for varied effects.
