Ingredients
- Red crayons (broken or new)
- Wax paper
- Parchment paper
- Iron
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Paper plate (optional for crayon shavings)
- Hole punch (optional for hanging)
- String or ribbon (optional for hanging)
Instructions
- Peel the wrappers off your red crayons and break them into smaller pieces.
- Place a sheet of wax paper on your work surface and scatter the crayon pieces on one half.
- Fold the other half of the wax paper over the crayon pieces.
- Preheat your iron on a low setting (no steam) and cover the wax paper with a sheet of parchment paper.
- Gently press the iron on top for about 30 seconds until the crayons melt.
- Carefully remove the parchment and wax paper from the heat.
- Once cooled, unfold the wax paper and cut the melted crayon creation into desired shapes.
- Create a hole at the top using a hole punch and thread string or ribbon if you wish to hang your suncatcher.
Notes
Experiment with different colors and shapes for unique suncatchers. Always supervise children during the melting process.
