Description

Transform simple kitchen ingredients into a vibrant, sparkling Rainbow Crystal Forest that brightens any space.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Sugar (or Borax)
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Small containers or jars
  • Wooden skewers or branches
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. In a pot, heat 2 cups of water until steaming, then gradually add 1 cup of sugar (or Borax), stirring until fully dissolved.
  2. Divide the solution into small containers and add food coloring to each for different colors.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and insert skewers into each container, ensuring they are submerged but not touching the bottom.
  4. Leave the containers undisturbed in a cool place for 3-7 days to allow crystals to form.
  5. Once crystals are formed, carefully remove and arrange them on the baking sheet to create your display.

Notes

Experiment with different sugars and containers for varied textures and shapes. Ensure adult supervision for young children during the project.
