Description

Create a charming pumpkin bird feeder to attract colorful birds while adding a festive touch to your garden.

Ingredients

  • One medium-sized pumpkin
  • Birdseed (your choice of mix)
  • A sturdy stick or wooden dowel (for the perch)
  • Knife (for cutting the pumpkin)
  • Spoon (for scraping out seeds)
  • Optional: Paint or decorations (glitter, markers)

Instructions

  1. Choose a healthy and sturdy medium-sized pumpkin.
  2. Using a sharp knife, cut off the top of the pumpkin to create a lid.
  3. With a spoon, scoop out the insides of the pumpkin, removing all the seeds and stringy bits.
  4. Insert the stick or wooden dowel through the pumpkin’s side for a perch.
  5. Fill the pumpkin generously with birdseed, leaving some space at the top.
  6. Place the lid back on the pumpkin, securing it with twine if desired.
  7. Display your feeder in a suitable location for birdwatching.

Notes

Try customizing with different seeds or decorations for a personal touch.
