Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
- Food coloring (optional)
- Plastic beads or popping boba (for the popping effect)
- Mixing bowl
- Saucepans
- Stirring spoon
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix together the flour, salt, vegetable oil, cream of tartar, and food coloring if desired.
- Gradually pour in the water, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat.
- Continuously stir the mixture until it thickens and clumps together.
- Once clumped, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Once cool, knead the dough slightly, then fold in the plastic beads or popping boba.
- Store the Popping Play-Doh in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
