Description

A fun and engaging DIY project to create your own popping Play-Doh using common household materials.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Plastic beads or popping boba (for the popping effect)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Saucepans
  • Stirring spoon

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mix together the flour, salt, vegetable oil, cream of tartar, and food coloring if desired.
  2. Gradually pour in the water, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Continuously stir the mixture until it thickens and clumps together.
  5. Once clumped, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  6. Once cool, knead the dough slightly, then fold in the plastic beads or popping boba.
  7. Store the Popping Play-Doh in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
