Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
- Food coloring (optional)
- Essential oils (optional, for scent)
Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients listed above for a smooth process.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Stir well to eliminate any lumps.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the water and vegetable oil. If adding food coloring or essential oils, mix them in this step.
- Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir continuously until a shaggy dough starts forming.
- Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the dough thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan.
- Once the dough is formed, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. Knead the dough until smooth and even.
- Now it’s time for play! Mold, squish, and squeeze the dough to hear the satisfying pops!
Notes
For customization, experiment with food colors and essential oils, and keep the Play-Doh in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
