Description

An easy-to-make, fun and interactive Popping Play-Doh that provides sensory play and encourages creativity.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Essential oils (optional, for scent)

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients listed above for a smooth process.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Stir well to eliminate any lumps.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the water and vegetable oil. If adding food coloring or essential oils, mix them in this step.
  4. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir continuously until a shaggy dough starts forming.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the dough thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  6. Once the dough is formed, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. Knead the dough until smooth and even.
  7. Now it’s time for play! Mold, squish, and squeeze the dough to hear the satisfying pops!

Notes

For customization, experiment with food colors and essential oils, and keep the Play-Doh in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
