Description

An engaging craft project for families to create fun and imaginative animal masks using paper plates.

Ingredients

  • Paper plates
  • Paints or markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Craft paper (various colors)
  • Googly eyes
  • String or elastic bands
  • Paintbrushes
  • Optional: feathers, glitter, or stickers for decoration

Instructions

  1. Choose Your Animal: Decide on the animal you want to create. Look for inspiration online or in books.
  2. Prepare the Paper Plate: Take a paper plate and cut out eye holes according to your animal’s features.
  3. Paint and Decorate: Paint the base color of your mask. For instance, a lion could be golden yellow. Let the paint dry, then add details using markers or additional paint.
  4. Add Features: Cut shapes from colored craft paper for ears, noses, or mouths. Glue them onto your mask and attach googly eyes for added fun!
  5. Attach Straps: Make holes on either side of the mask and tie string or elastic bands for wearing.
  6. Final Touches: Decorate with feathers, glitter, or any other embellishments to give it a unique flair.

Notes

Encourage kids to use their imagination and personalize their masks with names or animal facts.
