- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- Rolling pin
- Baking sheet
- Cookie cutters (various shapes)
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Paint and brushes (for decorating)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup salt.
- Gradually add 1/2 cup water and 1 tsp vegetable oil, mixing until the dough is smooth and pliable.
- Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and transfer them onto a baking sheet.
- Use a straw to punch holes at the top of each ornament for hanging.
- Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C) and bake for 2 to 3 hours until hard and completely dried out.
- Once cooled, decorate with paint and brushes, letting the paint dry completely.
- Thread string or ribbon through the holes and tie knots for hanging.
Notes
Add spices like cinnamon for fragrance, and use various materials for decoration.
