Description

A fun and creative craft project for making moon rocks that mimic the lunar surface using lightweight materials.

Ingredients

  • Lightweight clay or dough (air-dry)
  • Acrylic paints (gray, black, silver)
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Non-stick surface or parchment paper
  • Bowls for mixing colors
  • Small rocks or pebbles (for added texture)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your work area by choosing a clean, flat surface and laying down parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Sculpt the moon rocks by taking a handful of lightweight clay or dough and shaping it into small, irregular lumps.
  3. Add texture by pressing small rocks or pebbles into the clay.
  4. Paint the rocks using a mixture of gray, black, and silver paints, allowing some areas to remain unpainted.
  5. Add glitter over the wet paint for a shimmering effect if desired.
  6. Dry the rocks thoroughly according to the clay’s instructions, usually about 24 hours.

Notes

Feel free to customize the colors and even experiment with different materials for unique textures.
