Description

A fun and educational DIY kaleidoscope project that engages children’s creativity and teaches them about light and reflection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cardboard tube (from paper towel or toilet paper)
  • 1 small mirror or foil
  • Colorful beads, sequins, or small plastic shapes
  • Clear plastic or transparency sheet
  • Tape or glue
  • Scissors
  • Decorative materials (markers, stickers, colored paper)

Instructions

  1. Cut the tube to a length of about 6-8 inches and create openings at one end for viewing.
  2. Cut a piece of mirror or foil to fit inside the tube and secure it at an angle.
  3. Cut a square of clear plastic to cover the openings and secure it with tape.
  4. Add beads, sequins, or small shapes into the tube through the viewing opening and close it off with the plastic sheet.
  5. Decorate the outside of the tube with markers and stickers.

Notes

Consider using different reflective materials or creating themed kaleidoscopes for added fun!
