Description

Learn how to craft beautiful hanging planters from recycled plastic bottles, perfect for adding greenery to your space.

Ingredients

  • Clean plastic bottles (2-liter soda bottles or similar)
  • Craft knife or scissors
  • Twine or strong rope
  • Potting soil
  • Plants or seeds (herbs, flowers, or succulents)
  • Paint or spray paint (optional for decoration)
  • Drill or nail (for making drainage holes, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bottle: Rinse the plastic bottles and let dry, then cut the bottle in half, keeping the bottom half intact.
  2. Create drainage holes: Drill small holes at the bottom for drainage if desired.
  3. Decorate (optional): Paint the outside of the bottle and let it dry completely.
  4. Fill with soil: Add a layer of potting soil in the bottom half of the bottle and pack gently.
  5. Plant your seeds or plants: Insert seeds or plants into the soil, covering roots with more soil.
  6. Hang the planter: Cut a length of twine, tie it around the neck of the bottle, and hang securely in a sunny location.
  7. Water and care: Water regularly, ensuring excess water drains properly.

Notes

Customize your planters with various bottle shapes and outdoor-safe paint for added flair.
