Description

Make your own glowing bubble lamps with simple materials, adding whimsy to any space.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Clear plastic or glass container (like a jar or vase)
  • LED tea light candles
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon clear dish soap
  • 1 teaspoon glycerin (optional, for thicker bubbles)
  • Food coloring (optional, for colorful effects)
  • Wire or string lights (optional, for added glow)

Instructions

  1. Choose a clean, clear container and ensure it’s dry.
  2. Mix 1 cup of water with 1 tablespoon of dish soap in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of glycerin if desired, stirring gently.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture if you want to customize the color.
  4. Pour the soapy mixture into the container, filling it about three-quarters full.
  5. Place the LED tea light candle on top of the solution, ensuring the switch is accessible.
  6. Blow air into the solution with a straw or let bubbles form naturally.
  7. Optionally, enhance the glow by wrapping string lights around the container or inside it.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and container shapes to create unique designs. Using larger containers can produce bigger bubbles.
