Description

Craft your own gel air fresheners using natural ingredients for a delightful and customizable aroma in your home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 12 tsp of essential oils (e.g., lavender, lemon, eucalyptus)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Small glass or plastic jars for the gel
  • A saucepan
  • A whisk or spoon

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin. Stir well and let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the gelatin has fully dissolved, making sure not to boil the mixture.
  3. Once the mixture is clear, add 1/2 cup of salt and stir. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before adding 1-2 tsp of your chosen essential oils and a few drops of food coloring if desired.
  4. Pour the mixture into small jars. Allow the gel to set at room temperature for a few hours or until firm.
  5. Place your gel air fresheners in desired areas around your home for a fresh, pleasant scent.

Notes

Customize scents, swap materials, or decorate jars for personal touches. These gel air fresheners typically last about 2-3 weeks.
