Description

A delightful DIY project combining nature and art, perfect for all ages.

Ingredients

  • White or watercolor paper
  • Coarse salt or table salt
  • Liquid watercolors or food coloring
  • Small bowls or containers
  • Paintbrush or dropper
  • Fresh flowers (petals and leaves, if desired)
  • Water (for diluting food coloring if needed)
  • Optional: Glitter or additional decorative elements

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Clear a flat surface and lay down newspaper or old cloth to catch any spills. Gather all your materials within reach.
  2. Create Flower Impressions: Lay your fresh flower petals or leaves onto the paper. Gently press down to leave an impression.
  3. Apply Salt: Sprinkle a generous amount of salt over the flower impressions.
  4. Color it Up: In small bowls, mix your liquid watercolors or food coloring. Use a paintbrush or dropper to add drops of color onto and around the salt.
  5. Dry and Display: Allow your artwork to dry completely, preferably overnight. Once dry, gently shake off excess salt and display your masterpiece.

Notes

Experiment with color combinations and textures. Use different materials for added dimension.
