Description

Create your own colorful and squishy Floam using simple, non-toxic materials. A fun sensory activity for all ages!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup white school glue
  • 1/2 cup foam beads (or bead-size Styrofoam)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup liquid starch
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Airtight container for storage

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of white school glue and 1/2 cup of water. Stir until a smooth paste forms.
  2. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the glue mixture and stir until well mixed for color.
  3. Carefully fold in 1/2 cup of foam beads, being gentle to maintain their shape.
  4. Slowly add 1/2 cup of liquid starch and mix until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Knead the Floam with your hands until it’s smooth and pliable.
  6. Store the finished Floam in an airtight container.

Notes

Experiment with different sizes of foam beads for varied textures. You can also add glitter, essential oils, or blend colors for unique effects.
