Ingredients
- Pipe cleaners (any color, preferably blue or white)
- Boiling water (1 cup)
- Borax (1/4 cup)
- Glass jars or cups
- Wooden skewers or pencils
- String (optional)
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Shape the pipe cleaners into the snowflake design, aiming for at least 6 arms.
- In a heat-resistant container, pour 1 cup of boiling water and add 1/4 cup of borax while stirring until dissolved. Optional: add food coloring.
- Attach a wooden skewer or pencil across the jar’s top and hang the snowflake from the skewer, ensuring it’s submerged but not touching the bottom.
- Let the jars sit undisturbed in a cool, dry area for 24 hours to allow crystals to form.
- Carefully remove the snowflake from the solution and let it dry completely on a paper towel.
