Description

Create beautiful and customizable DIY crystal snowflakes that add a festive touch to your winter décor.


Ingredients

  • Clean glass or plastic jar
  • Boiling water
  • Borax (1 cup)
  • Pipe cleaners
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or stick for hanging
  • Optional: Food coloring for colorful snowflakes

Instructions

  1. Shape the Pipe Cleaners by twisting several together to form a snowflake.
  2. Prepare a clean and dry jar.
  3. Tie a string to the snowflake and attach it to a pencil or stick.
  4. In a separate container, mix 1 cup of Borax with 3 cups of boiling water until dissolved.
  5. Add food coloring if desired.
  6. Pour the Borax solution into the jar and submerge the pipe cleaner snowflake.
  7. Let it sit undisturbed for 6-12 hours to allow crystals to form.
  8. Remove and rinse the snowflake under cool water.
  9. Allow it to dry before displaying.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes for unique snowflakes. Use these as ornaments or part of a winter-themed décor.
