Description

Create beautiful, unique crystal hearts using simple materials and techniques. Perfect for home decor or heartfelt gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • Food coloring (any color)
  • A clean glass jar
  • A small piece of string
  • A pencil or stick
  • A shallow dish

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a pot. Heat until it reaches a boil, stirring until all sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat and add a few drops of food coloring to the solution.
  3. Pour the solution into a clean glass jar. Tie one end of the string to a pencil or stick, and dangle it into the jar, ensuring it’s submerged in the solution but not touching the bottom.
  4. Place the jar in a cool, undisturbed area and wait for at least 24 hours to see the crystals start to form.
  5. After 2-3 days, remove the string with the crystals and rinse them gently with water to remove any leftover syrup.

Notes

Experiment with colors, use rock sugar for a different texture, or add essential oils for fragrance.
