Description

Transform old crayons into colorful suncatchers that brighten any space with vibrant rainbow patterns.

Ingredients

  • Old crayons (assorted colors)
  • Wax paper
  • Iron
  • Parchment paper (or a sheet of newspaper)
  • Scissors
  • String or suction cups (for hanging)
  • Baking sheet (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your old crayons and peel off their paper wrappers.
  2. Use a grater or knife to shave the crayons into small pieces.
  3. Cut two pieces of wax paper to your desired size (typically around 6 inches by 6 inches).
  4. Sprinkle the crayon shavings evenly on the center of the wax paper.
  5. Place the second piece of wax paper on top of the crayon shavings.
  6. Set your iron to a low heat (no steam) and gently press over the parchment paper for about 10-15 seconds.
  7. Let the suncatcher cool completely before removing the parchment paper.
  8. Attach string or suction cups to hang your suncatcher in a bright window.

Notes

Adult supervision is recommended, especially when using the iron. Avoid using washable or specialty crayons.
