Description
Make enchanting DIY crayon suncatchers that add vibrant colors to your decor while recycling broken crayons.
Ingredients
- Broken crayons (any colors)
- Wax paper
- Iron
- Scissors
- Cookie sheet
- Parchment paper
- Hole punch (optional)
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
Instructions
- Sort the colors and peel the wrappers from the broken crayons.
- Chop the crayons into small pieces, about 1/2 inch or smaller.
- Place a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface and sprinkle the chopped crayon pieces onto one half.
- Fold the other half of the wax paper over the crayon pieces to create a pocket.
- Preheat the iron to a low setting with no steam and melt the crayons by applying light pressure for about 10-15 seconds.
- Once cooled, cut out desired shapes from the wax paper.
- (Optional) Use a hole punch to create a spot for hanging and thread with string or ribbon.
Notes
Experiment with different colors and shapes. Add glitter for extra sparkle.
