Ingredients

  • Broken crayons (any colors)
  • Wax paper
  • Iron
  • Scissors
  • Cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Hole punch (optional)

  1. Sort the colors and peel the wrappers from the broken crayons.
  2. Chop the crayons into small pieces, about 1/2 inch or smaller.
  3. Place a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface and sprinkle the chopped crayon pieces onto one half.
  4. Fold the other half of the wax paper over the crayon pieces to create a pocket.
  5. Preheat the iron to a low setting with no steam and melt the crayons by applying light pressure for about 10-15 seconds.
  6. Once cooled, cut out desired shapes from the wax paper.
  7. (Optional) Use a hole punch to create a spot for hanging and thread with string or ribbon.
