Description

Create enchanting DIY fireflies with glowing lights, perfect for outdoor summer nights or room decorations.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic bottles (cleaned and dried)
  • LED fairy lights or glow sticks
  • Black paper or cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue
  • Optional: Paints, glitter, ribbons, or googly eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Ensure your plastic bottle is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Cut a small hole in the cap or bottom for the light source.
  2. Take your LED fairy lights or glow sticks and insert them into the bottle. If using fairy lights, tuck them in for a cozy glow.
  3. Cut out shapes from black paper or cardstock to represent the firefly wings. Create different sizes for a unique look.
  4. Secure the wings to the sides of the bottle using tape or glue.
  5. Add paints, glitter, or googly eyes to your fireflies as desired and let your creativity shine in your design.
  6. Once your fireflies are decorated, switch off the room lights and watch them glow!

Notes

Use colored glow sticks for a vibrant effect and experiment with different bottle sizes for varied looks.
