Description

Create stunning color-changing crystal treasure stones with this simple and fun DIY project. Perfect for home decor or as heartfelt gifts!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Water
  • Variety of Food coloring
  • Small glass jars or containers
  • Wooden skewers or toothpicks
  • String or fishing line (optional)
  • Saucepan
  • Stove
  • Heat-resistant mat

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mix the sugar and water. Heat on medium, stirring until the sugar fully dissolves to create a supersaturated solution.
  2. Divide the solution into smaller jars and add a few drops of food coloring to each jar, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Place a wooden skewer or toothpick in each jar, ensuring it doesn’t touch the bottom. Optionally, tie the skewer with string to create a hanging crystal ornament.
  4. Cover the jars with a cloth to prevent dust. Set aside in a cool, undisturbed area for several days (2-7 days).
  5. Once crystals have formed, carefully remove them from the jars and allow to dry on a heat-resistant mat.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes by swapping materials and adjusting jar sizes. For best results, keep in a dry and cool place after creation.
