Description

Transform old compact discs into beautiful and functional wind chimes, adding a unique touch to your outdoor space while recycling materials.


Ingredients

  • Old CDs (as many as you like)
  • Fishing line or clear thread
  • A sturdy branch or wooden dowel
  • Drill with a small drill bit
  • Scissors
  • Decorative embellishments (e.g., beads, paint, ribbons)
  • Optional: spray paint or acrylic paint

Instructions

  1. Wipe each CD to remove dust and fingerprints.
  2. Carefully drill holes at the top and bottom of each CD.
  3. Measure and cut varying lengths of fishing line for each CD piece.
  4. Thread the fishing line through the top hole of the CD and tie a knot.
  5. Thread beads or decorative items onto the fishing line if desired.
  6. Securely tie each CD’s fishing line to the branch or dowel at different lengths.
  7. Consider tying an additional piece of fishing line to hang the wind chime.
  8. Optionally, paint the branch or dowel to add color.
  9. Hang your wind chime in a spot where it can catch the breeze.
