A fun and eco-friendly craft project to repurpose old CDs into colorful suncatchers that brighten up any window.
Ingredients
- Old CDs
- Acrylic paint (various colors)
- Paintbrushes
- Tissue paper or colored cellophane
- Scissors
- Glue
- String or fishing line (for hanging)
- Hole punch (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Find a clean, flat surface to work on and lay down newspaper or a protective covering.
- Clean the CDs: Wipe the CDs with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
- Paint the CDs: Apply acrylic paint to the shiny side and let it dry completely.
- Cut and Attach Tissue Paper: Cut tissue paper into shapes and glue them onto the painted side.
- Create a Hanging Mechanism: Make a hole in the top of the CD, thread a string, and secure it with a knot.
- Hang and Enjoy: Place your suncatcher in a sunny spot and admire the light reflections!
Notes
Experiment with glow-in-the-dark paint and cookie cutters for fun shapes. Supervise children when using scissors and glue.
