Description

A fun and eco-friendly craft project to repurpose old CDs into colorful suncatchers that brighten up any window.

Ingredients

  • Old CDs
  • Acrylic paint (various colors)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Tissue paper or colored cellophane
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • String or fishing line (for hanging)
  • Hole punch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Find a clean, flat surface to work on and lay down newspaper or a protective covering.
  2. Clean the CDs: Wipe the CDs with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
  3. Paint the CDs: Apply acrylic paint to the shiny side and let it dry completely.
  4. Cut and Attach Tissue Paper: Cut tissue paper into shapes and glue them onto the painted side.
  5. Create a Hanging Mechanism: Make a hole in the top of the CD, thread a string, and secure it with a knot.
  6. Hang and Enjoy: Place your suncatcher in a sunny spot and admire the light reflections!

Notes

Experiment with glow-in-the-dark paint and cookie cutters for fun shapes. Supervise children when using scissors and glue.
