Description

Transform old CDs into vibrant, iridescent suncatchers that reflect sunlight beautifully. This eco-friendly craft project is perfect for all ages and promotes recycling.

Ingredients

  • Old CDs or DVDs
  • Clear glue or mod podge
  • Paintbrush or sponge applicator
  • Scissors
  • String or fishing line for hanging
  • Optional: Acrylic paints (transparent), glitter, and gemstones

Instructions

  1. Clean the surface of the CDs with a damp cloth and dry completely.
  2. Apply a thin layer of clear glue or mod podge to one side of the CD using a paintbrush or sponge.
  3. If desired, paint a thin layer of transparent acrylic paint, add glitter, or adhere small gemstones onto the glued area. Layer multiple colors for a more abstract effect.
  4. Allow the CDs to dry completely. This may take several hours.
  5. Once dry, carefully punch a small hole at the top of the CD using scissors.
  6. Cut a piece of string or fishing line, and thread it through the hole for hanging.
  7. Hang your beautiful suncatcher in a spot that receives plenty of sunlight to enjoy the colorful reflections.

Notes

Customize colors and materials to match your décor. Use safety precautions with younger children when using scissors.
