Description
Create stunning DIY CD suncatchers by repurposing old CDs with colorful designs. A fun craft for all ages that brightens up any space.
Ingredients
- Old CDs or DVDs
- Acrylic paint (various colors)
- Brushes (small and medium)
- Black permanent marker
- Clear adhesive or Mod Podge
- Scissors
- String or fishing line (for hanging)
- Hole punch (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Work Area: Find a well-ventilated workspace and cover surfaces with newspaper or a drop cloth. Gather all your materials for easy access.
- Paint the CDs: Using acrylic paint, apply colorful designs to the shiny side of the CD. Experiment with layering colors for a more dynamic effect. Allow each layer to dry before applying another.
- Add Details: Once the paint is dry, use a black permanent marker to draw patterns or outlines on the CD. Consider dots, swirls, or even words to make it personal!
- Seal Your Design: When you’re satisfied with your decoration, apply a thin layer of clear adhesive or Mod Podge for extra protection. Let it dry completely.
- Make the Hanging Loop: Use a hole punch to make a small hole at the top if desired. Thread a piece of string or fishing line through the hole (if applicable).
- Hang Your Suncatcher: Find a sunny window or an outdoor area to display your suncatcher. Enjoy watching the light reflect and create a rainbow of colors!
Notes
Mix and match colors and patterns for a unique look. Use glow-in-the-dark paint for added magic at night!
