Description
Transform old CDs into vibrant suncatchers that cast beautiful light patterns around your home.
Ingredients
- Old CDs or DVDs
- Acrylic paints (various colors)
- Paintbrushes
- Glue (strong or craft glue)
- Scissors
- String or fishing line (for hanging)
- Optional: Glitter, beads, or other embellishments
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Find a clean, flat surface to work on. Lay down newspaper or a plastic sheet to protect the area from paint.
- Clean the CDs: Wipe the surface of the CDs with a damp cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
- Paint the CDs: Use a paintbrush to apply a base coat of acrylic paint to the CD’s shiny side. Experiment with blending colors or creating patterns. Let the paint dry thoroughly (about 30-60 minutes).
- Add Details: Once the base layer is dry, use additional colors or embellishments like glitter or beads to add unique elements. You may use glue to attach beads securely.
- Create a Hanging Mechanism: Cut a length of string or fishing line. Punch a small hole in the top of the CD or glue the string to the back for hanging.
- Hang Your Suncatcher: Find a sunny spot to hang your suncatcher—indoors or outdoors! Enjoy the beautiful light patterns it creates as the sun shines through.
