- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or other flavorings)
- Various food coloring
- Parchment paper or wax paper
- Piping bags or a ziplock bag (with the corner cut off)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by laying down parchment or wax paper on a flat surface and gathering all your materials.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of powdered sugar with 1/4 cup of corn syrup, 1 tablespoon of water, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and thick.
- Divide the mixture into different bowls for various colors and add food coloring to each, mixing until the desired shade is achieved.
- Fill your piping bag (or ziplock bag) with the colored mixture and squeeze out small drops onto the prepared paper, spacing them apart.
- Allow the candy buttons to dry for at least 24 hours at room temperature until firm.
Notes
Customize flavors with different extracts like almond or peppermint. These buttons can last up to 2 weeks when stored properly.
