Description

Craft your own customizable bouncy ball with a simple DIY project that blends science and fun for all ages.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon of liquid school glue
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon of water
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • A mixing bowl
  • A spoon or mixing stick
  • Wax paper or a non-stick surface for drying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of liquid school glue with 1/2 teaspoon of water. Stir thoroughly until well blended.
  2. If you want to add color, drop in a few drops of food coloring and mix until uniform.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to the mixture. Stir until it starts to clump together.
  4. Knead the mixture into a ball with your hands, working it until it holds its shape.
  5. Place the ball on wax paper for drying. Let it sit for at least 24 hours to harden.

Notes

For added fragrance, consider adding a drop of essential oil. You can also experiment with glitter for sparkly creations!
