Description
Fluffy and buttery biscuits perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, encapsulating warmth and tradition.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ¾ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tang)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).
- Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually pour in the milk, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it down to about 1-inch thickness. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits have risen beautifully.
- Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
