Description

Fluffy and buttery biscuits perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, encapsulating warmth and tradition.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¾ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tang)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).
  3. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it down to about 1-inch thickness. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits have risen beautifully.
  7. Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

For variations, add herbs, cheese, or use gluten-free flour. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
