Ingredients

  • Borax (1 cup)
  • Water (2 cups)
  • Heat-resistant container (like a glass jar or bowl)
  • Spoon (to stir)
  • String (optional, for hanging)
  • Food coloring (optional, for coloring crystals)
  • Pipe cleaners or a pencil (to create a base for crystals)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot until it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. Carefully pour 2 cups of boiling water into your heat-resistant container.
  3. Gradually mix 1 cup of borax into the hot water and stir until fully dissolved.
  4. If you want colored crystals, add a few drops of food coloring and stir gently.
  5. Shape your pipe cleaners into desired forms and tie with a string if hanging.
  6. Place your pipe cleaner creation into the borax solution.
  7. Leave the container in a quiet spot undisturbed for about 6-8 hours or overnight.
  8. Once the crystals have formed, carefully remove them from the solution and let them dry on a paper towel.
