Description
A fascinating DIY project to create beautiful and colorful crystal geodes using everyday household materials.
Ingredients
Scale
- Clean eggshells (halved)
- 3 tablespoons of Borax powder
- 1 cup of hot water
- Food coloring (optional)
- Small containers (like jars or cups)
- Stirring tool (spoon or stick)
Instructions
- Rinse and dry the eggshell halves thoroughly to remove any residue. Optionally, decorate the outside with paints or markers.
- In a container, mix 3 tablespoons of Borax with 1 cup of hot water. Stir until the Borax is completely dissolved. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring for vibrant crystals.
- Pour the Borax solution into each eggshell, filling them just above the rim, and place them in a stable position (like a muffin tin).
- Place your filled eggshells in a location where they won’t be disturbed. Allow the geodes to form for 24 hours or until satisfied with their size.
- Carefully remove the eggshells once the crystals have formed. Pat them dry with a cloth and admire your creations!
Notes
