Transform everyday items into vibrant blue crayon suncatchers that enhance your home decor and provide a delightful crafting experience.
Ingredients
- Blue crayons (preferably different shades)
- Wax paper
- Iron
- Parchment paper
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- String or ribbon for hanging
- Ironing board or heat-safe surface
Instructions
- Prepare Your Crayons: Remove the wrappers from the blue crayons and break them into small pieces—roughly 1-inch lengths.
- Set Up the Wax Paper: Cut two pieces of wax paper to your desired size and stack them on top of each other, ensuring they are aligned.
- Create Your Crayon Layer: Scatter the broken pieces of crayon between the two sheets of wax paper, arranging them creatively.
- Iron the Layers: Place a piece of parchment paper on top of the wax paper stack and gently iron over it using a low heat setting.
- Let It Cool: Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool completely before carefully peeling off the top layer of wax paper.
- Cut & Shape: Use scissors to cut the suncatcher into your favorite shapes, and optionally punch a hole at the top for hanging.
- Hang Your Suncatcher: Thread string or ribbon through the hole and hang it in a sunny window.
Notes
Customize colors by mixing in other shades like yellow or green for a rainbow effect, or use cookie cutters for unique shapes.
