Description

Create vibrant DIY blue crayon suncatchers that resemble stained glass and brighten up your space.

Ingredients

  • Old blue crayons
  • Wax paper or parchment paper
  • An iron
  • Two pieces of cardboard (as a base)
  • Scissors
  • A pencil (optional for tracing shapes)
  • Hole punch (optional, for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace with newspaper or an old cloth.
  2. Remove wrappers from the blue crayons and break them into small pieces, about 1 inch long.
  3. Place a piece of wax paper on the workspace and spread the broken crayon pieces evenly over it.
  4. Cover the crayon pieces with another piece of wax paper.
  5. Set the iron to a low heat without steam and press gently over the top layer of wax paper for about 10 seconds.
  6. Check for melting; repeat until crayons blend into a smooth layer.
  7. Allow the melted crayons to cool completely, then peel off the top layer.
  8. Cut the suncatcher into your desired shapes.
  9. If desired, use a hole punch to make a hole for hanging.

Notes

Mix blues with other colors or add glitter for variation. Perfect for a family crafting session!
