Description
Create vibrant DIY blue crayon suncatchers that resemble stained glass and brighten up your space.
Ingredients
- Old blue crayons
- Wax paper or parchment paper
- An iron
- Two pieces of cardboard (as a base)
- Scissors
- A pencil (optional for tracing shapes)
- Hole punch (optional, for hanging)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace with newspaper or an old cloth.
- Remove wrappers from the blue crayons and break them into small pieces, about 1 inch long.
- Place a piece of wax paper on the workspace and spread the broken crayon pieces evenly over it.
- Cover the crayon pieces with another piece of wax paper.
- Set the iron to a low heat without steam and press gently over the top layer of wax paper for about 10 seconds.
- Check for melting; repeat until crayons blend into a smooth layer.
- Allow the melted crayons to cool completely, then peel off the top layer.
- Cut the suncatcher into your desired shapes.
- If desired, use a hole punch to make a hole for hanging.
Notes
Mix blues with other colors or add glitter for variation. Perfect for a family crafting session!
