Description

Create beautiful suncatchers using blue crayons to brighten your space in a fun, eco-friendly DIY project.

Ingredients

  • Blue crayons (old or new)
  • Wax paper
  • Iron
  • Scissors
  • Parchment paper
  • String or fishing line (for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crayons: Peel the wrappers off your blue crayons.
  2. Shave the Crayons: Use a pencil sharpener or knife to shave the crayons into small, thin shavings.
  3. Layer the Shavings: Place a piece of wax paper on your workspace and sprinkle the blue crayon shavings evenly across half of the wax paper.
  4. Seal the Suncatcher: Fold the other half of the wax paper over the shavings and place a piece of parchment paper on top.
  5. Ironing: Press the iron gently over the parchment paper on medium heat without steam until the crayons melt.
  6. Cut and Hang: Once cool, cut the suncatcher into desired shapes and punch a small hole at the top to hang it.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes. Work in a well-ventilated area when melting crayons.
