Description

Create charming bird feeder ornaments that blend creativity with nature and attract beautiful birds to your yard.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened peanut butter
  • 2 cups birdseed (mixed seeds)
  • 34 pinecones (or cookie cutters for different shapes)
  • String or twine
  • Wax paper
  • Bowl and spoon for mixing
  • Optional: Food coloring (for decoration)
  • Optional: Bird-friendly decorations (dried fruit, nuts)

Instructions

  1. Clear a workspace and lay down wax paper for easy clean-up.
  2. In a bowl, mix 1 part peanut butter with 2 parts birdseed until thick and sticky. Add food coloring if desired.
  3. Using pinecones, cover them thoroughly in the peanut butter mixture and roll in birdseed until fully covered. Alternatively, press the mixture into cookie cutters, using a skewer to create a hole for hanging.
  4. Cut a length of string or twine and thread it through the hole (for cookie cutters) or tie it to the top of the pinecone.
  5. Hang the bird feeder ornaments outside on tree branches or hooks near a window for bird-watching.

Notes

Add spices to repel pests or use a variety of seeds to attract different bird species. Decorate with non-toxic paint or natural decorations.
